Damp Problems
If you are about to, or you have just bought your first home, and if the property is built pre-1950s, the chances are you may have a damp problem, although it should not deter from proceeding with the purchase.
Having the right information and a detailed report, listing all aspects of the works is paramount, we encourage our clients to be on-site when the survey is being carried out. Should you have any questions on any areas of concern, we are more than happy to discuss them with you so you can make an informed discussion when going forward with your purchase. If it is not possible for you to be present at the time of the inspection, we will ring you as soon as the inspection is carried out and talk you through our findings. If you have any questions or queries in relation to your home please don’t hesitate to call.
We can arrange an inspection (complete with a detailed written report) at a time which suits you.
BIG ENOUGH TO COPE, SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE
Rising Damp Treatment Dublin
A silicone emulsion cream is injected into the mortar course of the masonry. From here it migrates rapidly into the masonry pores where the injection cream reverts to a liquid phase and polysiloxanes are formed in situ. During the curing period, a low molecular-weight silane vapour is also produced giving excellent migration through the wall structure. Carrying out this process by way of injecting into the mortar joints at close centres will ensure an adequate volume of the chemical is delivered in order to give a continuous barrier against further rising damp. This form of treatment is ideally suited for red bricked properties or properties with a continuous mortar joint.

This system will provide an excellent solution to damp proofing in all types of building structures. The introduction of a small but safe electric current into the wall just above ground level through a series of titanium anodes inserted into the masonry will repel the rising moisture molecules down the walls and back into the ground. As long as this positive charge is maintained, the protected walls remain dry and totally free of damp.
A series of small holes are drilled in the masonry just above ground level, and tiny anodes inserted, linked by a special connecting wire which is ‘pointed’ into the wall. The finished result is invisible. Electro Osmosis permanently guards against the dangers of rising damp and protects buildings of any age or structure.
